Facilities
The old shower and toilet have been made into a ‘wet room’, it has been totally rebuilt and tiled to a very high standard ‘too good for carp anglers’ was the tiler’s comment! The wet room has a large shower with free shampoo and shower gel along with a separate ‘posh’ sink. You can lock yourself in for total privacy and it is heated.
A new toilet block has been created with two separate toilets again tiled to a high standard. The toilets are huge with a proper coat rack so you don’t have to squeeze yourself into a tiny ‘shed’ so you can do your business in style.
Food
We serve two meals a day from our clubhouse eating area, our fishery manager Danny Turley is a brilliant cook, I know this from personal experience! The breakfast is more than you can eat and to a very high standard, the same goes for the evening meal. Here is a sample of what you can expect;
Breakfast - 2 Bacon, 2 Sausage, Mushrooms, Fresh tomatoes, 2 Eggs fried or scrambled, Hash browns, Fresh bread, Fresh juice, Tea and Coffee.
Evening Meal Selection
BBQ – 2 sausage, 2 ribs, burger, chicken leg, salad, pasta,
Turkey stew, fresh veg, new potatoes
Roast chicken, or lamb, roast potatoes, fresh veg
Spaghetti Bolognese
Pork chop, chips, peas
Slow roasted beef stew in onion, mash, fresh veg
Lasagne, chips, salad
Shepherds Pie, fresh veg
All evening meals come with fresh bread, particularly nice for hand made sausage sandwiches on BBQ night and for mopping up sauces!
BBQ’s can be repeated if they are preferred!
Meals are priced at 110 euros and should be booked in advance with your respective booking agent before arriving at the lake.
There is a fridge full of cold beers and soft drinks and we operate an ‘honour’ system where you mark down what you have as you go and settle up at the end of the week, in euros. The beers are Kronenbourg, we avoid the cheap ones because they rip your throat out!
The food is of course optional and you can have the breakfast and not the evening meal and visa versa, I’m sure once you see what your mates aqre enjoying you’ll ditch the pot noodles and become part of the feast. Its good to get away from your swim at least once a day to recharge the batteries and find out what’s going on round the lake.
If you want to prepare your own food we have running water on site that is fine for drinking and cooking with although we recommend you buy bottled water for drinking. The nearest town is Brienne Le Chateau, 10 mins down the road, there are 2 good supermarkets open from 9-12noon and then 2pm til 7pm.
