Week Commencing: Sat 05/10/2013

Well it all got a little "spicy" at Gigantica this week, but  I'll come to that shortly.

The week started with the guys arriving in torrential rain, 24 hours worth infact.  How much more rain can we have in France this year, I ask myself?

Whilst the tumble was working overtime, our old friend and regular Jamie Lord snare'd one out of "Alcatraz", a pretty scaled mirror weighing 27lb. This was nicked from the left in Baxter’s water, good skills.

One fish was a quiet first night by our recent standards. Gigantica was only sleeping, Sunday evening she woke in the shape of Roberts fish back over the sixty mark 61.12 lb and a very happy Dan and lee brother combo Sat back and relaxed in co’s. The 16 3/4 wrap coming up trumps as usual!! Fudgies kitchen as we call it now. 

Monday eve was the next bit of action again.  Co's Point this time and Dan was into a very big fish and couldn't believe his luck, Discus wighing back at the big six "0".  Well done sir .  Indian spice snowmen over Active with a bit of paste, fished on the new Korda " Krank" hooks. (out soon) In-between Dan also had a pristine scaly 27lb'r Good photos too.  Well done Macky. 

Now not one to need telling twice "Barty " dug into the back of his fish-mobile and dug out some "Indian spice " pop ups.  Fishing from Stock Pond and at 21 wraps into very light weed, blanked woefully for three nights, had i lost my mo-Jo? 

SINGLE SCALE!  After the best fight i'd had from a carp and more than a few scary moments taking out other rods one of Gigantica's crown jewels rested in the net.... SINGLE SCALE!!!!! Echoed around the lake . Barty had got his mojo back, she pulled round 72lbs on the reubens... Oh happy days. And again on a long hair with a new Korda"krank" hook !!! That's what I call field testing. Hour later and I'm in again this time 17lb scaly mirror, how's that for extremes ?? A26lb mirror rounded of my week ..... Does it get any better ?? 

Next night and Dan was again on the phone, another lump.  If its over forty here day or night we assist with all fish care. 

True enough "Brutus " sat at the bottom of the net.  56lb 12oz this one to a Active, tiger snowman.  Dan finished on six kippers with back up fish to 34lb.  I salute you sir. 

Still to get off the mark was Kev, three swims later he was in the Tree Line for last night, the look on his face with a 41lb Gigantica mirror had him beaming. 

Fairbrass's oasis never ceases to amaze. Carp only Bloody enormous. 

It's been easy this week to push the "quill" around the page, I hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have this last week.
