Week Commencing: Sat 04/04/2015

Saturday brought a chilly and wet start for the week with water temperatures at 8 degrees. Every one was well spread out around the lake to start but with the fish showing all around the lake people started to make a move.

On Monday morning Barry who was in Scotties and Steve who was in Big Southerly made the move to pair up in Alamo.  Jamie started the week in Baxters and moved over to Big Southerly before finally finishing the week in Alcatraz. The temperature steadily rose all week with glorious spring sunshine and nearly no wind with a highest recorded temperature at the lake at 25 degrees. With water temperatures rising the fish were showing on the surface early morning and late evenings.

On Wednesday morning Buzz who set up in Tree Line for a few nights had a massive drop back and reeled down into a very pretty 25lb mirror called Scrappy, hooked on an IQ D rig with 3 grains of slow sinking IB Maize on a size 4 Krank with our own mix of particle spread around the bait.

On Thursday, Barry in the Alamo hooked into a fish at the 25 wrap mark but lost it due to using a size 8 hook. We recommend size 6 hooks as a minimum.

A tough week at Gigantica but the company and the weather made sure we all had a great week.
