Get Ziggy With It!
Much better week this week, with eight out the eleven anglers catching! The fish were certainly on the move, being caught from all around the pond. Majority of the fish fell to zigs but we did have one morning where it went off with all of the north bank having a bite and they were all of the deck. Some proper scaley ones this week and some rare ones too!
First of we have Ashley Rich fishing out of Co’s Point, although he didn’t catch of the favoured 28-31 wrap spot towards the tits, he did manage to snare a few on zigs at 25 wraps towards the flat oak including “The Long Common” at 56lb 12ozand a very rare one known as “The Box Common” at 48lb 10oz last caught in 2018! Mega result! Over 100lb in two fish back-to-back. Rich caught his fish on a black Flip Flop 20ft of the bottom, landing a total of 4 fish.
Part of the furniture Chris Clarke had his first trip back this year and landed in Alcatraz fishing 33 wraps towards the scary tree right of Big Southerly fishing two rods on bags and one on a zig he landed two fish for his week and one being “Mr Chow” at 54lb 10oz, also a new top weight for that fish. He caught Mr Chow on a solid bag over bait and his other fish “Happy Daze” was caught on a yellow flip flop 19ft of the bottom.
Our very own Andy Bevan landed in Baxter’s, he managed one fish for the week but I was a special one known as “The Resident” at 44lb 12oz. Andy caught The Resident 12 wraps out on a 12ft zig.
Danny Armitage and Dave Armitage both decided for a social and fished in Alamo Danny right hand side of Alamo set the trend with the zigs and caught “Long Spot” at 43lb on his first night on a 19ft zig, fishing 30 wraps out. Danny also caught a lovely scaley 23lb 14oz mirror known as “Twin Moon”. Dave on the left started of with a small stocky but on his 4th day he landed “Little Plated” at 40lb 4oz, both also caught on 19ft zigs but Dave’s fish were caught short at only 15 wraps out towards the lodge.
Darren Gowler fished exceedingly well in Big Girls, sitting on his hands for the first two nights and not putting the rods out. Even though the fish were showing over his spot he kept to his plan and on the first night of putting his rods out he landed two fish one being the “The Chinese” at 35lb 14oz and the other being “Pop It In Pete” at 31lb 14oz. Darren kept the spotting going landing a further two fish the biggest coming on the Friday night, “Air Cone” at 39lb 12oz. Darren was fishing Combi Rigs Snow Man at 25 wraps towards the spit over maize and boilie.
Jon Robbins made his short walk to Pole Position and decided to fish long at 33 wraps right of stink. Landing 3 fish for his week A 19ft zig produced his fish with “Willow” being the biggest at 37lb 12oz.
Ken Tape friend of Darren fishing in Oblivion managed to land the same fish Darren caught only 24hrs later. I think that’s a first for Gigantica. A fish known as Oscar at 36lb 4oz. ken was fishing 25 wraps towards Alcatraz combi rig snow man over Maize and Boilie.
A much better week this week with bites all round. The biguns can’t be to far away.
Until Next Time
