Stevenage Bait & Tackle Exclusive week!

This week we welcomed 11 excited anglers on to the Main Lake for the Stevenage Bait & Tackle exclusive across both of our lakes.

First out the hat we had James Anthony, who came out ball number one and jumped straight in Stock Pond. James started off baiting 18 wraps towards Oblivion and along the treeline to his right including the 9 wrap spot tight in the corner. James didn’t have to wait long, as in the early hours of Sunday morning he managed his first fish and first Gigantica carp known as ‘Clarence’. James kept the bait going in slow and steady throughout out week using the SB2 yellow boilie and house particle which managed to land him 6 fish including ‘Only Cans’ at 37lb and ‘Roblox’ at 50lb 8oz. James managed all his fish on either slow sinking maize or on SB2 wafters using spinner rigs.

Next up we have Brad Evans-Hart who managed to get himself in Co’s Point. Brad started the week by fishing long at 30 wraps towards ‘The Tits’ baiting regularly and with fish showing on his spot, just couldn’t get a bite. With a cold and wet start to the week it soon brightened up and it was clear to see the fish were in the upper levels. Brad then changed his plan of attack and chose to put an 18’ zig out with black foam and before he even managed to put the rod in the rest, it was away in his hands to a fish known as ‘The Brown Fish’ at 41lb. Unfortunately, that was it for Brad this week but him and his partner were very keen to return.

And last up we have Paul Humphrey came out later in the draw but still managed to get his first pick of Big Girls which was very fitting as this was the first choice of his son, who sadly couldn’t make it. Paul started off fishing 18 wraps towards ‘The Pipes’ which are from our stock ponds, and 23 wraps to the spit. Paul started the week baiting lightly with tinned corn and Cell boilie using the cut outs in the trees on the far bank, and only had to wait until Sunday night for his first Gigantica carp known as ‘Eco-Fuel’ at 31lb 12oz. Keeping the bait topped up on his way to dinner each night, Paul was getting regular bites throughout the week in the early hours of the mornings right up until the last having two Saturday morning including ‘Complete Carnage’ at 32lb 15oz and a lovely long common at 37lb 13oz. Paul was using ‘Slip-D’ rigs with slow sinking maize hookbaits.

Unfortunately, that was it for the anglers this week but was good to have the first barbeque of the year and see fish starting to come out across the lake.

Roll on next week,

Tight Lines,

Greg.
