The Christmas build up

Another tough week for the anglers this week, hopefully they turn on for Christmas.

First up we have frequent visitor Scott Larman, who pulled ball 8 out of the hat this week and decided to go in The Stink. With the wind making a turn after a couple of days and blowing right into him, Scott left it late but ended with the biggest fish of the week when he landed ‘Slate Grey’ at 54lb 12oz on Thursday just before dinner. Scott was fishing double slow sinking maize over a bed of 12mm Creamino boilie and caught off his short spot 13.5 wraps towards the poplars to the right of Tree Line.

Next up another regular and friendly face, Chris Clarke. Chris drew number 4 in the draw and opted to test the new waters out of Bob’s Beach, where we have increased the limit, when going towards The Alamo, to 30 wraps. Chris was first off the mark this week when he landed his first and only of the week known as ‘Phill’ at 41lb. Chris was fishing solid bags with yellow topped Manilla hook baits out towards The Alamo at 30 wraps.

Last up this week, we have another long-term visitor, Danny Armitage who got ball 3 in the draw and opted to go in Big Southerly after a previous successful winter session. Danny started the week fishing the usual spots out of Big Southerly, putting two rods out towards Alcatraz at 26 wraps and one down towards the snags at 14 wraps at The Alamo. It was Wednesday night during the wet weather Danny’s rod went off, the one at the snags, which he landed ‘The Phoenix’ at 31lb from coming off a bed of 10mm Cell soaked in the matching smart liquid and a yellow topped Cell hook bait on a Turbo German rig.

That’s it from me for this year; I hope you all have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tight Lines,

Greg.
