Angler Comments
Welcome back to a special weekly update.
Ive predicted the Giant would be landed next at over 80lb for some time now and was finally proven right on Thursday night when Herman, fishing in Big girls hooked and landed the Giant at an astronomical 80.05 lb
Giganticas first 80 +
A huge well done too Herman, who's previous best weighed less than 29lb ! I doubt he'll better this his new PB.
The fish looked very well, in very good condition and its mouth still in very good shape, thanks partly to our strict barbless rule that we enforce. Mainline New Grange toppedwith plastic corn scoring, with a size 8 Korda Kurv, 15" coated hooklink and a inline flat pear lead proving successful.
As well as the Giant, other anglers had a very productive week. Regulars, Rigger man, Bob the sock and his son Gary taking a steady stream of fish. Gary in Pole position taking 6 fish to mid 30z but losing a very decent fish unfortunately, Barry - riggerman, taking several from Alcatraz then moving into Stink and taking several more topped by @ 45.12. Bob the sock in Alamo also getting amongst them with 6 fish topped with 'White lines' at 44.12.
Unfortunately, Clivein Co's failed to connect with his only chance but Woody, after fishing really well allweek in Big southerly, moved in behind Rigger man and snared a last grasp 27 linear to save a blank.
Now the weathers back to a more settled front, the fishing has picked up as expected, hopefuly it'll continue and more fish will be captured. Pop back next week for the ltest up to date info.
As usual, be safe, be lucky.
